Introduction

Buntsma Yacht Painters processes personal data of its customers, potential customers, and other contacts. We do this to fulfill a potential agreement. In this privacy statement, we explain why and how we process your personal data.

What personal data does Buntsma Yacht Painters process?

A small part of our processing is a legal obligation, especially concerning personal data necessary to fulfill our tax obligations.

Newsletters and mailings

Occasionally, we send newsletters and/or mailings. Sometimes these are personalized based on specific actions you’ve taken or products/services you’ve obtained from us. You always have the option to adjust your preferences for receiving newsletters and mailings.

Automated decision-making

Buntsma Yacht Painters does not make decisions based on automated processing (algorithms) that could have adverse effects on you.

  • Objection (opposition): You can object to the processing of your personal data. If it concerns marketing, we will end that processing as soon as possible.
  • Portability: This is a new right under the GDPR to (have) transfer(red) your personal data. If you want to make use of this, please contact us.

Additionally, you can:

  • Withdraw consent: For example, for receiving emailings. If you want to withdraw consent for another processing, you can contact us at info@yachtschilders.nl.
  • File a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (AP): Do you think we do not comply with privacy legislation? We’d like to hear about it. After May 25, 2018, you can also file a complaint with the AP.

How long do we keep your personal data?

Personal data should not be retained longer than necessary. The retention period depends on the purpose for which we received or collected the data and any legal obligations to retain data.

If you have requested a quote from us but have not become a customer, we will delete your data no later than two years after our last contact. Also, if we have received a quote from you but have not become your customer, your personal data will be deleted no later than two years after our last contact. If you have become a customer, or we have become your customer, we will retain your personal data for a period of seven years after the end of the financial year in which the agreement with you was fully executed. The seven-year period corresponds to the period within which we are obliged to retain our administration for the Tax Authorities. After this period, we will delete your personal data.

Legal basis for processing:

As explained above, we process some data to fulfill a legal obligation, some for the performance of a contract, and most for the legitimate interest of Buntsma Yacht Painters in carrying out our mission. Transfer to third parties

In connection with the execution of a possible agreement with you, it is possible that we need to provide your personal data to parties that supply products and/or services to us or carry out work on our behalf. Furthermore, we use external server space for the storage of (parts of) our sales and purchase administration, of which your personal data is a part. For this reason, your personal data is provided to our server room provider.

DKIM are internet standards that we use to prevent you from receiving emails on our behalf that contain viruses, are spam, or are intended to obtain personal (login) details.
